VILLERS-BOCAGE
13 June, 1944

Below is a map with the situation as it was at the end of the battle in Villers-Bocage on 13 June, 1944. Today, a little can be found that remembers of this battle, and to find locations is difficult. The square where the ambush was laid by Lt. Bill Cotton, is rebuilt with houses and shops. A new square, with a new city hall, is now at the location were once Tiger ‘212’ was crippled. Remarkable is the fact that six Tigers were put out of action (five on the map), and at least two PzKpfw IV. The great victory that Wittmann made in the morning, was made even in the afternoon.
